About Me

Marcy Corprew
Award-Winning Playwright & Author

Marcy Corprew

I am an award-winning playwright, author, and literary educator dedicated to creating compelling narratives across multiple formats. My work spans stage plays, published books, and transformative literary workshops.

With over 25 years of experience in storytelling, I've helped countless individuals discover their authentic voice and share their stories. My approach blends traditional narrative techniques with innovative, contemporary perspectives.

My Story

My passion for storytelling began at a young age, growing up surrounded by books and authentic culture. After graduating with a Masters in Education, I have dedicated myself to crafting stories that not only entertain but also inspire.

Today, I split my time between writing new works and leading creative writing workshops for adults and youth of all ages, and speaking at literary events across the country.

My Books

Marcy Corprew is artful at creating a literary portrait of southern Black life in the first half of the 20th century. Authentic to the dialect of the time, Marcy blends poetry and narrative prose with expressive, performance-informed storytelling that explores life, love, and all things in between.
